We employ trapunto embroidery, a centuries-old method of padded quilting that creates raised, sculptural patterns by layering, stuffing and stitching fabric with precision. This technique allows us to explore texture and form with architectural clarity, drawing inspiration from the artistry of African scarification, a ceremonial practice where the body becomes a canvas of memory and identity.

At Mimi Plange, sustainability is woven into our creative process. As we design, we intentionally preserve scrap leathers, repurposing them into one-of-a-kind garments and accessories that celebrate resourcefulness and beauty in unexpected forms. Each piece reflects our commitment to eco-conscious design, where upcycling becomes a form of craftsmanship, minimizing waste while giving new life to the materials we love.
